C&C free-to-play eingestellt

Na das ist doch mal ein Kracher: Aus heiterem Himmel hat EA einfach mal so das ehemalige Generals 2 aka free-to-play C&C eingestellt. Closed Alpha-Test abgebrochen, Victory Games aufgelöst und alle Mitarbeiter entlassen. Zack bumm! Mein Fazit: EA hat seinen blendenen Ruf als größten Saftladen erneut bestätigt und hoffentlich hat die Leichenschänderei von C&C jetzt endlich mal ein Ende. Von offizieller Seite ist bisweilen nicht viel zu hören, aber bemerkenswert ist folgende Selbsterkenntnis:

Part of being in a creative team is the understanding that not all of your choices are going to work out. In this case, we shifted the game away from campaign mode and built an economy-based, multiplayer experience. Your feedback from the alpha trial is clear: We are not making the game you want to play. That is why, after much difficult deliberation, we have decided to cease production of this version of the game. Although we deeply respect the great work done by our talented team, ultimately it’s about getting you the game you expect and deserve.

Ein Spiel machen, dass keiner will ist jetzt plötzlich ein Grund es tatsächlich nicht zu machen? Wie kommt's? Hat doch bei C&C4 auch niemanden dort interessiert. Also möge es das Ende mit Schrecken sein als weiterhin Schrecken ohne Ende.
