THQ stellt Red Faction-Serie ein Spiele

Nach 10 Jahren das Ende: Brian Farrell, CEO von THQ, zeigte sich enttäuscht über die Qualität des letzten Ableger Armageddon und dessen Verkaufszahlen:

We are disappointed in our first quarter financial performance. Sales of Red Faction: Armageddon and our licensed kids titles were below our expectations.

Und verkündet angesichts $38,4 Millionen Verluste im vergangenen Quartal das Ende:

Given that that title, now in two successive versions, has just found a niche, we do not intend to carry forward with that franchise in any meaningful way.

! Unsicher ist damit auch die Veröffentlichung des DLCs "Path to War":

First of all, Path to War has not been officially announced / released yet. Yes, I've seen the page on THQ.com, and asked them to take it down, but yet it remains. The date on there is incorrect.

We'll have more details on it shortly, hopefully this week.

Persönlich fand ich das Hauptspiel gut gelungen und werde RF echt vermissen. Entwickler Volition, Inc. wird sich zukünftig der Insane-Trilogie von Guillermo del Toro widmen. Geplanter Start: 2013...
