In einem Interview gibt Sasha Nikolsky von GSC Game World erste Hinweise auf die Neuerungen von S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. Neben der bekannten Zone wird es neue Gebiete zur Erkundung geben und es treten erstmals weibliche S.T.A.L.K.E.R. auf:

Q. Can you tell us anything about how Stalker 2 will be different from the previous installments in the series?

A. Well, it is widely known now that there will be female stalkers in Stalker 2. But with the new engine we are building for the game, we expect everything to be different. Skins, textures, performance, etc. We also want to make the experience of the Zone a lot more real for the player.

Q. Will Stalker 2 be set in the Chernobyl area again?

A. Yes, once again we will see familiar areas from the Chernobyl Zone, as well as new ones.
